In the SaaS world it seems like what VCs care about most is MRR and % growth rate (and TAM).
As a founder I care a lot about fixing the problem I saw/experienced in the world. To raise money I feel like I have to figure out how my mission of solving this problem aligns with making tons of money and being profitable at every step of the way. This seems like it's only gotten more extreme in 2016.
Do VCs ever invest in turning an industry upside down and later profiting once establishing a monopoly position in the market? How has this changed since 2012 and how do you expect it to change moving forward?
